Atkins completed all signalling and civil engineering work in a major upgrade of the rail network in England’s West Midlands. It involved re-signalling the entire layout from Coventry to Nuneaton with modern interlocking equipment and moving control of the network to Rugby Signalling Control Centre.

Once the signalling design was sufficiently advanced, the design and build of the associated civil engineering works could commence. Atkins successfully demonstrated how a seamless relationship between signalling and civil engineering enabled this challenging project to succeed and be delivered on time.
