In the UK, Atkins is the largest consultant engineer to the defence market. We are one of the leading suppliers to the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), providing expertise in both Defence Systems and also Defence Asset Management.
We work across a wide range of areas within the Defence market, from individual consultancy projects to large, complex multidisciplinary programmes. Our projects cover air, land, sea and C4ISTAR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance).
Atkins was appointed as the Systems House on the MoD’s Future Rapid Effects System (FRES), which will ultimately provide the British Army with a family of medium-weight armoured vehicles. Our role is central to the effective delivery of the initial assessment phase of the FRES programme.
In the Asset Management segment of the Defence market, Atkins provides hard and soft facilities management (FM) on a large number of UK contracts, including FM support to half of the 39,000 Ministry of Defence houses in the UK.
