Atkins joint venture wins United Utilities contract extension - 06 July 2009
Atkins, in joint venture with Galliford Try and Costain, has been awarded an extension to its AMP4 framework with United Utilities (UU) to cover the five-year AMP5 period starting in April 2010.
The total value of the framework to the GCA joint venture is approximately £400m. The contract will involve the implementation of UU's non-infrastructure capital delivery programme in its southern area. The majority of projects are likely to be improvements to both clean and waste water processing plants, as was the case with AMP4.
Mick Foote, managing director of Atkins' water operations business, said: "We're delighted to have been awarded an extension to this major contract by United Utilities, alongside our joint venture partners. This is recognition of the excellent work we have delivered since 2005, and the strong relationship we have developed."
