Background

When did you join Atkins?

4 August 2010.

Describe your role and responsibilities

Winning and delivering management consultancy projects.

Do you have any professional accreditations?

BSc Hons, PMP

Why did you join Atkins?

I previously worked for Atkins in the UK and thoroughly enjoyed it. When Atkins decided to start the management consultancy practice in the Gulf, it was a challenge that was too alluring to turn down.

How do you describe what you do to friends and family?

I tell them that I work for a large multidisciplinary consultancy – and that I work for the management consultancy team.

Projects

What key projects have you worked on?

Dubai Roads & Transport strategy implementation and the Urban Planning Council asset management framework.

What are you currently working on?

A strategy project within the Dubai Roads & Transport Authority. By professionalising their asset management practices they will achieve huge savings in their operating costs. My other project is delivering a new infrastructure strategy for the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council.

What achievement are you most proud of?

The management of a year-long merger and acquisition project on behalf of Atkins.

What’s the most technically challenging project you’ve worked on at Atkins?

I think understanding the challenges involved in the remediation of the London 2012 Olympic Park site was one of the most interesting technical challenges I have had the opportunity to be part of.

Career development

How has your career developed at Atkins?

I joined Atkins in the UK as a senior consultant delivering primarily programme management consultancy to UK security clients. I have had the opportunity to work in various sectors culminating in my current role here in the Middle East business.

How were you supported through this?

I have been supported by my peers and mentors as I have progressed in my career, in a friendly and team orientated environment. They have helped me grow and have provided me with the skills and confidence to take on new challenges.

How do management consultants and Atkins make a difference?

Our management consultancy offering provides strategic solutions to our clients’ business problems and help them at the implementation level when putting into practice the programmes and projects that are needed to fulfil their operational goals.
