Project Feasibility
We address site selection, technology selection and optimisation, infrastructure requirements, environmental impact, permits and consents, market and regulatory factors to provide full input to the business cases for power projects.

Project Development
Atkins progress key projects on behalf of clients by acting as a project manager, developing and overseeing the design development requirements, conducting environmental impact assessments, securing Section 36 consent, securing grid connections, negotiating with regulators and ensuring that all commercial factors are addressed to meet and develop the business case.

Design Development
Atkins has experience of design work ranging from single structural components to entire power stations and encompassing mechanical, structural, electrical, civil, process and C&I design as well as production of specifications and liaison with manufacturing and installation contractors.

Owner's and Lender's Engineer
We review and oversee performance at all stages in the project lifecycle on behalf of developers, asset owners and lenders. We act alongside or on behalf of the client in discussions with contractors and in assuming to role of CDM coordinator as defined in the CDM Regulations 2007.

Asset Management
Atkins carry out short, medium and long term asset management activities for clients. This ranges from diagnosis and redesign to address plant breakdowns, development of maintenance regimes for full power plants and coordination and evaluation of major programmes of work for life extension.

Acquisitions and Sales
We provide technical, operational, environmental and commercial due diligence of exiting power plant, partly constructed plant, part developed projects and portfolios of assets on behalf of vendors, lenders and purchasers.
